PRECANSKATE with PARENT
The Parent PreCanSkate group is a modified PreCanSkate group, for young skaters who require family support on the ice.
*Once skaters are able to skate independently (determined by the coach) then they may move up to the PreCanskate or CanSkate program.
Who should join the PreCanSkate Parent Group:
- Children who have never skated before
- Children age 2 to 6 who require family assistance on ice
I am a parent/guardian and I am unable to skate or do not want to participate, what are my options?
- Any family member can complete the parent registration and participate as long as they are at least 16 years of age and are able to skate.
- There are no program registration fees for the parent participant registering, although there will be a $58.65 fee for each parent registration as per the Mandatory Skate Canada Membership requirements.
- If a family member does not want to join the skater, they can join PreCanSkate with intermittent program assistant support. If a 50 min session will be too much for your child, they may be able to stay with the Parent PreCanSkate Group (30 minutes), depending on group sizes, with intermittent program assistant support.
